My family and I took a trip to Singapore in the summer of 2022. A trip, and not a vacation, was a clear distinction my parents made, as every day they would make us walk 20k steps to visit every tourist spot in the city. Navigating Singapore's immaculate subway system was a stark contrast to the chaos of Delhi's metro. With wifi available throughout the city, including buses and restaurants, Singapore was the most technologically advanced country that I have ever visited.

Venturing to Sentosa Island, accessible only by cable car, offered a host of adventures, from Universal Studios to Sentosa Beach and Madame Tussauds Museum.

As a kid obsessed with animated movies, the character I aspired to be the most was Shrek. He had his own house in a swamp, his routines, and hobbies, and most of all, he was content with his way of life. His introverted self got adopted by an extrovert-talkative donkey best friend, but most of all, he got a princess. Shrek was humorous, kind, compassionate, yet seemed scary. Universal Studio Singapore is where my dream of meeting Shrek, visiting Fiona's castle, and going off to happily ever after came true. However, it was the mesmerizing "Wings of Time" water show that truly stole the spotlight. It was a light-water show about friendship and courage. Set against the backdrop of an open sea and presented using laser, fire, and water effects set to a majestic soundtrack, complete with a fireworks display, made it a truly magical experience.
